Cornelsen Education Index 2023

With the ‘Cornelsen Education Index’, FiBS is creating a barometer of public opinion for the entire German education system on behalf of Cornelsen Verlag. It will be published for the first time in 2023 and will be conducted annually thereafter. Based on the opinions of 250 education experts, the index reveals a differentiated assessment of the current state of our education system.
The survey includes people from early childhood education, schools, vocational training, higher education, and adult and continuing education. The selection is made in such a way that learners, parent representatives, educators, teachers and trainers, as well as managers, policymakers and experts from educational administration and educational research are represented.
The Cornelsen Education Index is determined from the answers to seven core questions, and each year, assessments of current challenges are also requested.
