A key requirement for the successful transformation process in the automotive industry's job profiles is a sufficient number of school leavers available to the training and labour market who are of sufficient quality. It is therefore necessary to make adjustments in the area of school education. The process currently underway as part of the ‘Bildungsland Sachsen 2030’ (Saxony as an educational centre) project initiated by the Saxony Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs offers a good opportunity to introduce further reforms into the state's school system in the interest of the Saxon economy.
The project is developing possible criteria for an indicator system to monitor developments. To this end, comparative analyses of the educational landscapes are being carried out in a nationwide and international comparison, as well as with the inclusion of scientific studies.
