Inter-company vocational training centres (ÜBS) in the Free State of Thuringia – status quo. Utilisation. Needs. Future.

In the context of demographic change and the forecasts for the demand for skilled workers in Thuringia, the attractiveness and quality assurance in dual vocational training is of particular importance. Therefore, a quantitative and qualitative overview of the current situation and the medium to long-term development planning of the training companies is urgently needed. In particular, in view of the associated financial requirements up to 2030, this is also an essential prerequisite for an appropriate and economical approval (decision) regarding upcoming modernisation and construction measures in the training companies in the Free State of Thuringia.
On behalf of the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society of the Free State of Thuringia (TMWWDG), FiBS has prepared an expert opinion on the topic ‘Scientific analysis of the stock and utilisation as well as future content-related and location-related needs of the inter-company vocational training centres (ÜBS) in the Free State of Thuringia in connection with their further development into competence centres’.
