Rocio Ramirez
Rocio Ramirez has been a senior researcher and project leader at FiBS since June 2017. She also worked previously as a junior researcher at FiBS, from 2009 to 2012. Her areas of expertise include upward social mobility and research on education, immigration, and the labor market, which she approaches using qualitative and quantitative social research methods. In addition, she has profound knowledge of international education systems. She has worked on projects in Germany and abroad dealing with vocational educational training (VET), lifelong learning (LLL), gender equality, and the inclusion of disadvantaged groups in higher education.
From 2012 to 2015, she worked as the coordinator of an international research project at the Institute for Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin. Before her first stint at FiBS, she was an advisor for the review of international student applications at uni-assist e.V. She completed her study of political science, ergonomics, and psychology (M.A.) at the University of Kassel in 2008.
Rocio Ramirez was born in Colombia and has lived in Germany since 2000. She speaks Spanish, German, and English and has a basic knowledge of Portuguese.
